MEET SUSIE

SUSIE GREENBERG’S STORY

“As a mother, lawyer and 30-year resident of the HD53 community…

I’ve devoted my life to working as a volunteer advocate for our most vulnerable children and families. I don’t stop until I’ve done everything possible to meet their needs. In the Georgia House, you can count on me to fight for you, just like I fight for them.”

A family legacy.

Susie Greenberg is a mother, attorney, and longtime community volunteer, deeply rooted in her Jewish heritage and values.  Susie and her family moved to metro Atlanta/Buckhead in 1996. In 2005, they moved to Sandy Springs, which is still her family’s home. Susie’s American ancestral journey began in the early 1900s when her Jewish grandparents fled Eastern Europe to escape persecution and violence.

Their stories of resilience and determination instilled in Susie a strong sense of responsibility to Stand Up, Speak Up, and Show Up whenever she encounters injustice or oppression.

A community advocate.

Before deciding to run for office, Susie was a prominent figure in grassroots organizations like Moms Demand Action, advocating for the passage of common-sense gun laws in Georgia. She served on Planned Parenthood Southeast’s board, working first to protect—and now to restore—women’s reproductive rights. Her extensive volunteer work includes decades as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for foster children, mentoring legal refugees, and serving as a volunteer college counselor with the Sandy Springs Education Force’s SAIL program. Susie is also a current board member of the National Council of Jewish Women, Atlanta Section.

Let’s get personal.

In addition to her advocacy, Susie is dedicated to her family as the mother of four adult children and wife to her high school sweetheart, Marc, a pediatric ophthalmologist. She is an active leader at her synagogue, contributing to her community.

An avid hiker and outdoor enthusiast, Susie enjoys exploring local trails. A long-time Grateful Dead fan, she and Marc have been “Deadheads” since 1980, attending concerts whenever possible.
